What is Pokemon Rainbow?
Pokemon Rainbow is a role playing group in a fan pokemon universe. You create a character and complete quests set via drawing.

Do I have to be of a particular skill level to join?
No! Any form of art is accepted here; comics, digital, traditional, animations- anything you like (as long as it's within dA's terms and conditions mind you- any art theft will be reported and your entry will be removed).

What is the first thing I need to do?
Get yourself noticed by uploading your Character Card ry-spirit.deviantart.com/art/C… and submit it to the 'Character Card & Collection Card' Folder. Then you can either enter the current Main Quests or catch some more Pokemon to your party by submitting your 'Catching the Pokemon' artwork to the specific 'Areas' folder that has the Pokemon you want in it.

I see there's only one slot for the Pokemon.. why isn't there 6?
This group is a little bit different than other group, you can be ANYBODY not just a trainer. You can be a nurse, a police, a detective, a chef, a librarian, a magician, a singer, a photographer, a Team Rocket grunt, a businessman, a Pokemon Breeder, a student. So it doesn't make sense you are just limited to 6 Pokemon in your party. However if you do want 6 Pokemon for your team if you are a trainer, you can enter the 'Areas' and submit your 'Catching the Pokemon' artwork in the specific areas folder. Thats how you add a Pokemon to your team! In a way its like you are working towards forming your team, making this role-playing experience even more realistic.

Can I have any pokemon as my main pokemon?
Your main pokemon can be ANY pokemon! That's right. As long as it is not a legendary. For those wondering which Pokemon are legendaries, here's a list of the current legendary pokemon:
Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mew, Mewtwo, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Latias, Latios, Deoxys, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Manaphy, Phione, Heatran, Cresselia, Darkrai, Regigigas, Shaymin, Arceus, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Victini, Cobalon, Terrakion, Virizion, Keldeo, Voltolos, Tornelos, Landlos, Melloeta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yvetal and Zygarde, Diancie and Hoopa too.

Can I be a gym leader/elite 4 member/champion?
Unfortunately no, gym leaders and elites have already been decided. However you could always make your character's back-story that their goal is to become a gym leader, or the champion!

Can I be in a group like Team Rocket or Team Plasma from the games and anime?
We would prefer you just be ex members on non active members. Its fine if your character is currently in team but they can't be active.
Pokemon Rainbow has its own group of baddies and we would really prefer that they be the more active baddies in the region.

Can I be in a high ranking position in Team Rocket or Plasma?
No I'm sorry you cannot.

Can I be in a high ranking position in Team Monochrome?
You have to ask before you can be awarded a position higher than grunt. Anything higher has to be earned.

Can I create multiple characters?
Yes, create as many as you like!

Can I use a fakemon as one of my pokemon?
No, any pokemon used in your card must be an official Pokemon.

Does my character have to be human?
Yes, please keep all characters human.

Can I put accessories like bows and glasses on my pokemon?
Feel free, make them as pretty as you want!

Can my pokemon speak with humans or use telepathy/psychic powers to speak to humans or other pokemon?
No. Please limit your pokemon's communication to their names and nonverbal actions.

Can my character use telepathy/psychic powers to speak with other trainers/pokemon/rocks?
No.

Can my character be a psychic or have otherworldly powers?
Generally, no, but feel free to run your character concept by an admin. We'll happily work with you!

Can I smooch my pokemon?
Ok.

NO

Which generation Pokemon are in the Rainbow Region?
All generations.

Can I use an official character like ash as my character?
No! Please make your own characters up! Any non original characters will not be accepted.

Can I have shiny pokemon on my team?
Sure! It is the Rainbow region after all.

How many pokemon may I have?
You may capture as many pokemon as you'd like! You have full access to the PC system which allows for the storage of pokemon. However, you may only have a maximum of six Pokemon traveling with your character at any given time.

I have drawn a character and Pokemon previously on another similar group, can I use it here?
Yes you can, but obviously you need to use our group's template and still follow the group's rules of starting with one pokemon then catching the rest in the region.

So I see many 'Areas' on the Pokemon Rainbow Region map, what does it mean?
Those are the Areas of Interests. They are location that has specific Pokemon, that's also the place where you meet or 'Catch' the Pokemon you want. That's how you add them to your team! And you can submit art to those areas anytime you want. But keep in mind besides from catching you can also just be there to visit the place, or fight other trainers, or have a picnic, or exploring the place! Think of it as an open location for you to do anything you want.

Due dates? OK so what DOES have due dates?
Main Quests have due dates. And when the due date comes the best looking/most creative art piece gets to be featured in the featured gallery (As well as winning medals). Usually each Main Quests has around 2-4 weeks before it's due.

So after a Main Quest reaches its due date, can we still submit to it?
Yes you can! But unfortunately you won't have a chance to be featured (Or win medals). But your work will still be seen by many fellow Pokemon lovers and you win the prize shown for the quest.

How do I keep track of which Main Quests are available at the moment?

Lets talk Pokemon... there's a certain Pokemon I want for my team. But they are nowhere to be found on any areas! What to do?
New areas appears on the map all the time, so maybe one day the Pokemon you want will appear! Also feel free to request your Pokemon to any of our admins. We will listen to you!

But on this subject: PLEASE don't spam every area with a pokemon you want- if it's not there in that area it may be added later in another new area. By you just saying "IS THERE ___________(insert pokemon)" in an area, or "WILL THERE BE ______" can come across rude. Ask politely and we're more likely to add them. When more areas are added we will take into concentration what pokemon have been requested, but it's unlikely we'll add new pokemon to existing areas right away since the pokemon there have been planned.

Does America or Japan or Russia or any other countries exists in the Pokemon Universe?
Nope, so please do not reference them on your character card saying your character was from China or whatever. You can refer other regions however like how your character came from Johto for example. Also the use of real countries language is also acceptable like saying the character can speak French.

What are NPC trade?
Every once in a while, an event called "NPC Traders" will appear on the group's blog and profile page. Three NPC (Non playable characters) will want to trade pokemon. Usually they offer Pokemon that aren't in the region, and for a limited time, you will be able to catch a Pokemon they want and draw a trade with them and submit it to the NPC trade folder. If I wanna trade with a friend, can I do that?
YES YOU CAN. You cannot trade pokemon with your own original characters, however you can find another member and trade with them. Just get their permission and you can both draw something or collab and submit it to the Trade Society folder. More info here pokemonrainbow.deviantart.com/…

I wanna role play my characters in a chatroom, is there one I can go to?

There are SO many pokemon and I don't wanna read every area to find if they exists in the rainbow region.. what should I do..?
Here's a tip. On the page where you see lots of Pokemon available in the areas (Region map page or even the front page), press 'Control F' (Or Command F if you are using Mac), a little search bar will appear on your browser somewhere (Depends on your browser), then type in the Poke's name in there, if the Pokemon you want is on the list, its name will be highlighted. This is not only useful in finding Pokemon in a massive pile of name list, but also handy in everyday life web browsing.

I know that I have missed out on some Pokemon from previous events because I wasn't a member yet, how do I check what Pokemon were available?
You can either browse through the journal.... or just simply check out altitudinous 's hard worked Pokemon list for the Rainbow Region altitudinous.deviantart.com/ar… its even in national Pokedex order and includes the hidden Pokemon too. Its pretty helpful!

Someone is bullying me and making me uncomfortable...
If you are feeling uncomfortable or being harassed by a member, a suggestion is not to continue arguing too much, flame wars can get pretty crazy and the problem with flame wars is that it usually gets more and more serious... instead copy and paste the conversation and show it to us admin, we will sort it out. We do not tolerate racism, bullying, sexism or just any kind of bullying.
